Virtual Riding, Training, and Showing Resources
Sea 2 Shining Sea Ride: Free and open to all USIHC members. This is a year-long virtual ride across the country that EVERYONE can participate in simply by riding your horse. All you need to do is to sign up on the USIHC site (URL is included below) and track your hours weekly. Any non-compensated riding counts so if you ride in your own arena the time counts, if you go on a trail ride along or with friends the time counts, if you go on a club trail ride or participate in a clinic the mounted time counts. You have the option to form small groups of riders to participate as a group or you can participate as an individual. You log your hours on the USIHC site weekly and the site will translate the hours you ride into miles travelled on the virtual cross-country ride. The ride starts on January 6. All the information you need is at https://icelandics.org/sea-2-shining-sea-ride .

Virtual Lessons/Training with Nicole Kempf: Master trainer Nicole Kempf has been providing remote training for her German students for several years, but is now expanding and offering this option to work with those of us who live in the United States. This training is offered as real-time instruction (at mutually convenient times) or via comments on videos submitted by students. There is also the option for some group discussions/demos for those who are interested. Nicole is happy to help you with preparing for your submission to the USIHC Virtual Shows or help you find and ride tölt for the very first time. In other words, she is ready and able to be your online resource while travel is restricted and in-person instruction is not available.
